Chasing the Satyrium rhynchanthum

Today we climbed behind Galpin hut with Herbert Starker, renowned Orchid photographer, in order to find Satyrium rhynchanthum. We were lucky and found a very fine number of good specimens. We also saw many Disa racemosa, D. cylindrica, D. bivalvata, Disperis paludosa, Pterogodium acutifolium, Ceratandra atrata, Corycium carnosum, Satyrium humile and a few others whilst we were at it.

Unfortunately, however, we got more than just Orchids as the weather turned bad and we had to endure a thorough soaking when steady rain and strong winds lashed us for a couple of hours!  We got soaked!!
